19 Weeks Pregnant

The different stages till pregnancy 19 week have shown the development of the fetus from a speck to a baby which is almost 6 inches in length and about seven ounces in weight. 19 weeks pregnant signifies the baby well formed kicking around in the mother’s womb. The baby will grow to another fifteen times of what it is now by the time the pregnancy is a full term one.

Pregnancy symptoms like round ligament aches are fairly common at this stage. Some more pregnancy symptoms at 19 weeks of pregnancy are dizziness which can be brought on with sudden movements like standing up suddenly or trying to walk. There is a wobble because of the sudden low blood pressure which is caused by the movement. So the mother to be should try and remember to make her movements more slow and calculated instead of sudden. Because of the vena cava getting pressure on it with the growth of the uterus this supine hypotension can cause faintness when the mother is lying down.

During this pregnancy week 19 the baby will generate a kind of bowel which is called meconium and is composed of amniotic fluids which is excreted and substances which are produced within the period of pregnancy. Right through pregnancy the baby will be ingesting and expelling the amniotic fluid. Though this is supposed to happen after the birth only, sometimes the baby starts expelling it while still in the womb. This ejection can cause a problem for the baby and affect the baby’s lungs when it is born. There is nothing much that can be done to prevent this, except that the physician will have to take necessary precautions as soon as the baby is born.

This is where a pregnancy pillow proves handy by giving the 19 weeks pregnant mother a more comfortable position to lie in. Problems which cause dizziness are the levels of blood sugar and these can be controlled with healthy eating habits.
