24 Weeks Pregnant
Your baby is almost completely formed when you are 24 weeks pregnant.. He is now about a foot long and between 1.25 and 1.5 pounds. He will continue to gain weight in muscles. The lung is developing. At your doctor’s appointments, your health care provider will continue to measure you for fundal height. A glucose tolerance test may be ordered to check your body for gestational diabetes in pregnancy 24 week.
Your uterus will continue to grow, and you will become aware of your baby’s movement patterns and will be able to tell when he is sleeping or awake. Compared to pregnancy first weeks when you had to deal with nausea, 24 weeks of pregnancy is where you can enjoy the pregnancy and birth of your baby. It is also important for both you and the baby to keep busy and healthy during pregnancy. Exercise regularly and drink plenty of water.
If you are having a problem with heartburn, you may try eating frequent, smaller meals throughout the day. Discuss this with your health care provider, as many women find that eating five or six small meals a day decreases the amount of heartburn they experience. Heartburn can also be decreased by skipping snacks and meals late at night. Pregnancy week 24 is a time when you can enjoy your pregnancy and plan a get-away with your partner.
You may find that tying your shoes and bending over are more difficult than in pregnancy first weeks, as your body has gained considerable weight. Your baby’s growth spurt means that you may feel itchy and sore as the skin stretches to make room. Your joints will loosen as 24 weeks pregnant hormones soften them to accommodate your baby and to prepare your body for labor. A good exercise regime will help you through the pregnancy and birth of your baby.
