26 Weeks Pregnant
Your baby can hear you and those around you when you are 26 weeks pregnant. Although we think that the uterus is a quiet time, the baby has been surrounded by noise for a long time. The development that is occurring at 26 weeks of pregnancy may seem insignificant, but it is important as your baby begins to prepare for his entry into the world. The nerves in the ears are developing. Watch out for pregnancy symptoms such as spotting; and during the next prenatal appointment, you should be prepared for various blood screenings and glucose tolerance tests. As your baby has gone through the pregnancy week 26, he has now reached the third trimester. The bronchial tracts develop. The lungs will not be fully mature until after birth. From this month onwards the use of the placenta gradually decreases. Also the amount of amniotic fluid reduces as the baby grows.
The following healthy tips can make your pregnancy better e.g. there are good fish choices and bad fish choices. Bass, catfish, cod and salmon are examples of good fish. Avoid shark and mackerel. Canned or packaged tuna is safe to eat when you are already 26 weeks pregnant. Some of the pregnancy symptoms at this stage include stress. You may have mood swings. Try to keep calm, eat healthy, enjoy soothing music and most of all, and keep an open mind and a positive attitude.
