Pregnancy Week2
The second week of pregnancy is pretty much the same as the first one with the same pregnancy symptoms continuing but the woman is still not sure whether she is pregnant or not as she has not missed a period as yet. However, once the couple has been trying for a child, the mother to be has to ensure the good health and development of the baby during early pregnancy, and also ensure the safety of the baby without endangering it with alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking either active or passive, and maintain a healthy lifestyle herself to protect her child. If these habits were there already she will have to give it up, as smoking can cause underdevelopment and poor weight gain in the fetus. Smoking also inhibits the folic acid from being absorbed into the child’s system. Those who smoke during pregnancy are endangering their unborn child with the risk of placenta previa and of pulmonary problems. Mothers to be who consume alcohol while they are pregnant can cause problems in the child’s motor development and speech. This could happen even if very little alcohol has been consumed. To have a healthy baby the mother should take care of her own health and maintain healthy habits.
In the pregnancy diet the mother should include folic acid as soon as she is aware that she is pregnant. This is very essential from the health point of view of the fetus and for its development. This is when the mother should get all the healthy tips which are beneficial for herself and her unborn child from her personal obstetrician and follow them explicitly. This will ensure the future health of her baby and her own too. The pregnancy first weeks are very important when extra care should be taken of the health of the mother too as she is undergoing additional stress with the changes in her own body. The care that she takes of herself and her unborn child at this stage will be like a bonus for the future of their health. A healthy pregnancy diet and following the do’s and don’ts is very necessary. So even without missing a period, once there is a possibility that the woman may have conceived, she should start being careful with her own food and other habits.
